CCC3 Gold Download
Will my download links expire?
The download links that are issued immediately after purchase will never expire. You can download your selected products at different times convenient to you, there is no time limit. Some collections are large and will take a while to download, even with a fast connection, so you might want to do the downloads overnight. However, this is still faster and costs less than having the products shipped.
CCC3 Hard Drive Option
For those with slow connections or bandwidth limitations an optional CCC Gold Sound Data Hard Drive is available by checking the Hard Drive box in the selection window above. This hard drive contains all of the sound data for all available options in CCC3. After receiving the hard drive download the small instrument files and PLAY software online, and activate everything you selected with the authorization codes that were emailed with your order. This will also minimize import costs as only the hard drive will be subject to tax in most cases. When you wish to expand your collection you will have the sound data (media) and can purchase product licenses online.
The Complete Composers Collection GOLD Sample Data Hard Drive (does not included product licenses) is optional and is available from Amazon for purchase here. This is for those wanting to purchase EastWest/Quantum Leap Professional Virtual Instruments that may have slow internet connections or internet usage restrictions, or simply wish to have a hard drive backup. All of the sound data from the Complete Composers Collection 3 GOLD is included on the hard drive. You can then purchase product licenses here and download the PLAY software online, even with a slow connection, resulting in big VAT savings!
What happens if I lose my data or the hard drive crashes?
The supplied hard drive is a 1 terabyte HGST Touro S 7200rpm USB 3.0 (with USB 2.0 compatibility) computer powered external hard drive. The hard drive includes a two-year limited warranty from the original manufacturer. The hard drive is subject to change without notice. The sound data will be replaced free of charge by download should the hard drive fail.
What are the system requirements for the supplied external hard drive?
To obtain satisfactory performance from the supplied hard drive a USB 3.0 compatible computer is required. If your computer does not have a USB 3.0 connection, you can use the USB 2.0 connection supplied with the hard drive to copy the data to another (non energy saving) internal hard drive of at least 7200rpm; or external hard drive of at least 7200rpm that has a Firewire 800 (not 400) connection or faster, and use the supplied hard drive for backup. Note: USB 2.0 is too slow to stream ultra detailed virtual instruments, resulting in poor performance (pops/clicks/dropouts etc.). Computer powered external hard drives should be ejected prior to shutting down your computer to avoid damage to your data or the hard drive.
Can a USB 2.0 computer be upgraded to USB 3.0?
If your computer has an ExpressCard slot, you can purchase a USB 3.0 ExpressCard HERE. If you have a tower system you can purchase a USB 3.0 PCIe Card HERE.
